Because we hate traffic, we made this nifty twitter account:

Since you guys are always out on the road, maybe you can help in giving traffic updates online (because trapik.com sucks and there really aren’t any decent traffic update sites out there.  Not even with the local news sites.  And you can’t always catch the traffic update on the radio).

Requirements:

1. A twitter account
2. A phtwitter/isip.ph account (if you want to update using your phone…  malamang!) or any twitter mobile provider
3. A sense of compassion for those who always get stuck in traffic (whether you’re in a car, bus, jeep, tricycle, padjak, on foot, taking the mrt/lrt *yes, may traffic din sa mrt* or kalesa, whatever)
4. Load/company line *wink* (regular text applies with phtwitter so no problem there)

To update your timeline using sms/text, you need to *register your twitter account to the gateway*.

To register, send:

·         REG [username] [password]

·         Gateway numbers:

How to send traffic updates using twitter:

There are several ways:

1. Add the #trafficmanila hashtag to your updates and it will be automatically RT-ed (although his has been very unreliable lately, no thanks to twitterfeed)
2. Have yourself added to the bot (we use tweetbots)! Just tell us and we’ll add you to the list. Once you’re added to the bot, your direct messages (DM) will appear in the @trafficmanila account.

How to send a direct message to @trafficmanila using Twitter:

From your update pane type:

§         D @trafficmanila TRAFFIC SA EDSA GUSTO KO NA MAMATAY

§         Hit enter

How to send traffic updates from your phone thru isip.ph:

o        Type this is in your composition panel
